The Sports Trainer Level 2 course set builds on the foundational skills of SISSS00118 Sports Trainer Level 1. This program is designed to deepen your knowledge and capabilities, enabling you to play a more significant role in ensuring the safety and well-being of athletes and sporting events.


The Level 2 course set is tailored to provide a higher level of understanding and skill development in areas such as advanced resuscitation and oxygen therapy, emergency care for suspected spinal injuries, and pain management, teaching crucial skills for safety during sports activities.

Advanced Remote First Aid Course Set

 This course is designed to provide the knowledge and skills required by an individual to provide an advanced first aid response and emergency life support to a casualty in a remote or isolated situation. The course can be delivered in any industry where persons may be required to provide first aid in locations beyond the reach of timely medical assistance, as part of their role at work or in the community.


With instruction and practical training in line with legal, workplace and community considerations, Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and other Australian national peak clinical bodies, this advanced remote first aid course teaches the skills and knowledge to recognise emergencies and provide immediate and effective CPR, first aid treatment and oxygen therapy in a range of complex situations, including remote, community and workplace settings. Furthermore, simulated real-life situations will be used to develop the skills and knowledge for using and maintaining specialised equipment for the provision of first aid, resuscitation, and oxygen therapy, as well as providing treatments specific to advanced conditions, such as inserting an appropriate basic airway adjunct, using tourniquets and haemostatic dressings for life-threatening bleeding, and administering oxygen safely at the correct flow rate.

This course is appropriate for people who are either employed in, or intending to become employed in, nominated occupational first aider roles. It is delivered in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority requirements, safe work practices, and first aid code of practice.

HLTOUT007 – Transport non-emergency patients under operational conditions

This course unit describes the skills and knowledge required to load, unload and drive vehicles safely to transport non-emergency patients to and from a facility or service. It includes using communication equipment and checking vehicles and equipment to restock and remedy faults.


This standalone course unit is often required to be undertaken and completed by existing health professionals wanting to apply for a NEPT (Non-Emergency Patient Transport) ATA or PTO job here in Victoria.


Performance tasks and practical scenarios:

  • Performance Task – Vehicle Inspection
  • Simulated Scenario – Loading and Unloading a patient
  • Performance Task – Drive Under Operational Conditions


Documentation:

  • Complete a Vehicle Inspection 
  • Checklist based on Performance Task – Vehicle Inspection


Theory assessment:

  •  A written exam consisting of multiple-choice and short answer questions must be completed at the end of the training session. Students must answer all questions.


This standalone unit is specifically designed to help existing health professionals gain employment as a Ambulance Transport Attendant (ATA) or Patient Transport Officer (PTO).

The HLT41120 – Certificate IV in Health Care is an entry-level qualification to becoming

a First Responder, Event Med1c, Emergency Medical Technician or similar.


This course can help you gain basic life support skills to provide medical care in emergency and non-emergency settings. You will gain the confidence, experience, and knowledge needed to work effectively in a team with fellow responders and local emergency response teams, such as police and fire services.


The course runs over 18 months, with 16 units of competency, 1x practical workshop and 80 hours of clinical placement, which the qualified team at Emergency Medical Response can provide. Upon graduation, you’ll be qualified to an Event MED1C Level 3 standard, with the chance to upskill to the HLT50120 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care if you wish to expand your skill set.

APC’s HLT51020 – Diploma of Emergency Health Care will give you the confidence and skills to deliver emergency healthcare in various roles or place you on the path to becoming a registered paramedic via university.


This course equips you to support patients in a pre/out-of-hospital environment, supporting them during their most vulnerable time. Taught by our experienced trainers and assessors of medics, paramedics, first responders, nurses, and more, you will build the fundamental knowledge to perform life-saving care.


The course runs over 24 months, with 17 units of competency, two practical workshops, and 160 hours of clinical placement, which the qualified team at Emergency Medical Response can provide. Upon graduation, you will be competent to an Event MED1C Level 4 standard, with qualifications to begin a career as an Event Med1c, Emergency Medical Technician or pursue a Bachelor of Paramedic Science at university.
